Canada’s Toronto Pearson International Airport has introduced a pilot programme to offer food delivery services in a collaboration with Uber Eats and American highway and airport food-service company HMSHost.
Passengers at the airport’s Terminal 3 International and Domestic Departures area can use the Uber Eats app to order food items such as burgers, burritos, smoked meat, shawarma, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips from HMSHost restaurants.
Restaurants offering food as part of the pilot scheme include Caplansky’s Deli, Paramount Fine Foods, Smoke’s Burritorie, Smashburger and Fionn MacCools.
Greater Toronto Airports Authority customer and terminal services vice-president Scott Collier said: “Just last month, Toronto Pearson was voted by passengers as the Best Large Airport in North America as part of Airports Council International’s Airport Service Quality programme.
“We also received the Most Improved Airport in North America recognition, and this innovative partnership with Uber Eats and HMSHost, unlike among airports worldwide, underscores our commitment to continued innovation in passenger service.
“We couldn’t be more excited to pilot this innovative offering for International and Domestic passengers in Terminal 3.”
