American restaurant chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has revealed plans to open a new location in Cambridge, Minnesota.

Planned to open in spring this year, the restaurant will be owned and operated by new Dickey’s franchisee Scott Frayn.

According to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Frayn is new to the restaurant industry. For the new location in Cambridge, Frayn and the Dickey’s team worked together closely and acquired a gas station for the restaurant.

“With new franchisees that truly love the brand, we can continue our growth and more importantly continue serving our guests delicious barbecue.”

Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants CEO Laura Rea Dickey said: “At Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, we pride ourselves on serving each and every guest authentic, Texas-style barbecue.

“With new franchisees such as Scott that truly love the brand, we can continue our growth and more importantly continue serving our guests delicious barbecue.”

Scott said: “I love Dickey’s product, the atmosphere of each location and Dickey’s commitment to their community.

In a separate development, franchisee Kim Fewlass revealed plans to open five Dickey’s locations throughout Nevada. The first two locations will open in spring and autumn this year and the remaining three in the coming years, while last week Dickey’s new unit opened in Clackamas, Oregon.

Offerings at the fast-casual concept restaurant include several types of meat that are still slow smoked on-site and home-style sides.
