American chain Little Caesars has launched a new ‘ExtraMostBestest’ pizza stuffed with over three feet of cheese.
Priced at $9, the pizza is available at all participating Little Caesars locations in the US and features the chain’s ‘fresh, never-frozen’ mozzarella, Muenster cheese blend and pepperoni slices.
The carryout pizza chain is known for its fresh dough and sauce made from California crushed tomatoes.
Little Caesars global marketing senior vice-president Edward Gleich said: “Like so many people, we are truly obsessed with cheese.
“So it’s only natural that we’ve been asking ourselves, ‘just how much cheese can one pizza hold?’ I think the new ExtraMostBestest Stuffed Crust Pizza pushes it to the brink.”
In a separate development, Little Caesars obtained a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a robot designed to help assemble pizzas.
The device also includes pizza sauce and cheese spreading stations as well as a pepperoni applying station.
Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Little Caesars was founded as a single, family-owned restaurant in 1959. The carryout-only pizza chain’s menu includes HOT-N-READY pizza and famed Crazy Bread.
It operates stores in 23 countries and territories across the globe, including in each of the 50 US states. Little Caesars is the third largest pizza chain in the US behind Pizza Hut and Domino’s Pizza.
