US-based artificial intelligence company Valyant AI has unveiled a conversational customer service platform for the quick-serve restaurant (QSR) industry.

Through its voice-based assistant, Valyant AI will assist restaurant operators to enhance their customer experience and employee efficiency as well as address labour shortages.

The company designed the new platform by using customer voice recordings and is in the process of refining with live customer orders.

In addition, the company has partnered with fast-food restaurant chain Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard to pilot the new platform at its restaurant in Denver, Colorado.

Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard concept is owned and operated by Good Times Restaurants.

“By freeing employees to spend more time focused on the customer at the window, we’re providing better and faster service to our customers and a more enjoyable experience for employees.”

Good Times Restaurants chief operating officer Scott Lefever said: “We are incredibly excited to demonstrate customer service leadership by helping to refine Valyant AI’s software to improve order accuracy and decrease wait times for our customers.

“By freeing employees to spend more time focused on the customer at the window, we’re providing better and faster service to our customers and a more enjoyable experience for our employees.

“Good Times Restaurants are usually staffed with three employees at breakfast. If there is inclement weather, or if an employee doesn’t show up, Valyant’s platform can truly save the morning.”

According to the AI company, the platform uses a smaller vocabulary of keywords to take meal orders compared with other voice assistants.

Valyant AI also used human-in-the-loop (HITL) interaction model to ensure order accuracy, and problem identification as well as enhance experience.
