Wendy’s has announced that it is reimagining the Frosty, its classic frozen dessert, with two new items in the US: Frosty Swirls, featuring new sauces, and Frosty Fusions, which combine sauces with mix-ins such as Pop-Tarts and OREO cookies.

Frosty Swirls are exclusively available through the Wendy’s app from 11 April 2025, then countrywide on 15 April, while Frosty Fusions will roll out on 12 May.

Wendy’s Company US chief marketing officer Lindsay Radkoski stated:  “Frosty has been on Wendy’s menu for 55 years and is one of the most iconic frozen treats in American culture […]. We know consumers are always on the lookout for new flavours and ways to customise their order with sauces and mix-ins. We can’t wait for everyone to experience even more ways to enjoy our iconic Frosty!”

Customers can choose one of three sauces for the Frosty Swirl: Strawberry, Caramel and Brownie Batter.

Frosty Fusions allow customers to add a sauce and mix-ins. Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion, which combines strawberry sauce with chunks of Pop-Tarts Strawberry Crunchy Poppers, is the first time the snack has featured as a mix-in for a frozen dessert in the QSR industry.

OREO Brownie Frosty Fusion offers Brownie Batter sauce and OREO cookie pieces. Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion features toffee bits and a caramel sauce.

The Frosty items will be served in a newly designed cup with a domed lid, making it suitable for dipping Wendy’s Hot & Crispy Fries. Spoons will also be available.

In March 2025, Wendy’s announced its plans for 1,000 net new restaurants globally by 2028.

This expansion will increase the chain’s footprint to between 8,100 and 8,300 locations, up from the current 7,240.
