Fast-food restaurant chain A&W Restaurants has expanded its network with the addition of four new franchise locations in the US.

The four franchise agreements are expected to add 10 new A&W locations across the country.

The first agreement was signed in Tennessee with Moe and Sam Sallukh. They will introduce A&W venues in Memphis and Jackson.

The second is a multi-unit agreement with Annette, Jarod and Jacob Johnson.

The Johnson family will open A&W locations in Valdosta and Lake Park in Georgia, and in Jasper, Madison, Live Oak and Monticello in Florida.

A family spokesperson said: “When my family and I started searching for a food franchise, we wanted something new and different.

“We needed a fast-food option for hungry travellers. After discovering A&W, we knew it would be a perfect fit. The most exciting thing is being the first A&W franchisee in Georgia.”

Raja Mahmood and Faheem Khalid are spearheading the return of A&W to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In South Dakota, Todd Poling has committed to a three-unit agreement to establish A&W in Sioux Falls.

A&W franchise CEO Kevin Bazner said: “We are achieving annual net growth in the number of our base brand restaurants.

“Given our pipeline of new restaurants, the strong economics of our restaurants and the available territories across the country, we are in a growth mode that investors do not want to miss.”

In October 2023, A&W Canada added the Chicken Crunchers sandwiches line-up to its menu.

This was the first permanent menu addition since 2018.

The Chicken Crunchers line-up includes the Nashville Hot Chicken Cruncher, the Chubby Chicken Cruncher and the BLT Chicken Cruncher.

Each sandwich has a five-ounce piece of crispy chicken sandwiched between a toasted brioche-style bun.
