UK-based pub group Admiral Taverns has re-opened The Brockburn, a Glasgow pub formerly known as The Pollock, following a £340,000 refurbishment.
The re-opening took place on 23 February 2024. Admiral Taverns' Proper Pubs subsidiary invested in the establishment, giving it a new look and upgraded amenities.
Located on Brockburn Road, the pub's renovation included both interior and exterior enhancements.
The interior now features a redecorated bar and lounge area, creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons.
The exterior has been modernised with new lighting and signage, along with the installation of bi-fold doors that open to the outdoor space.
The Brockburn operator Margaret Drennan said: “Opening night was fantastic! It was amazing to welcome all our customers, old and new, back into the pub to check out its fresh new look and see what it has to offer.
“The feedback we’ve received from the community so far has been amazing, and we can’t wait to see them again soon!”
The Brockburn now offers a variety of drinks deals, as well as access to TNT, Sky Sports and horse racing channels.
Plans are in place to establish a regular entertainment schedule, including quiz nights, DJ sets and live music..
Proper Pubs operations director Matthew Gurney said: “The refurbishment at the Brockburn looks fantastic and I’m delighted that the opening night was such a success! This stands testament to the team’s hard work who have done everything to make sure the pub will sit at the heart of the community.
“On behalf of the Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish Margaret every success for the future in making the Brockburn a vital community hub.”
In December 2024, Admiral Taverns invested $876,000 to refurbish two community pubs in Hull.
The Parkers, managed by Paul Harker, received a £268,000 renovation and the New Griffin, led by David Smith, benefited from a £424,000 upgrade.
