UK-based community pub group Admiral Taverns has reopened The Spinners pub in Leigh following a £250,000 ($313,571) renovation.

The investment was made by mother and daughter licensees, Karen and Naomi Baird, and brewery Admiral Taverns.

The Spinners Arms has a completely new look including two brand-new bars and new flooring and furniture throughout,

Admiral Taverns business development manager Kelly Kerr stated: “I’d like to thank Karen and Naomi for all their hard work in bringing the refurbishment to life – the results are truly fantastic.

“They both have a very clear vision to ensure the pub sits at the heart of the community, offering residents a traditional community pub that everyone feels welcome at.

“On behalf of Admiral Taverns, I wish them every success for the future, and I would recommend anyone in the area to pay them a visit.”

The exterior of the pub has also been transformed. The Spinners' beer garden, which can accommodate up to 50 people, has been redeveloped with new festive lighting and furniture.

Karen and Naomi Baird operate another pub, the Royal Oak in Boothstown, also owned by Admiral Taverns.

The Spinners' manager Naomi Baird said: “Opening night was fantastic. It was great to welcome back all the new and old customers – the support we’ve had so far has been amazing. We can’t believe the results of the refurbishment.

“We have exciting plans to ensure the pub thrives within the community and we want to create a social hub that is welcome to everyone, from families and children to couples. We will also be looking to support the community wherever we can, as well as local causes.”

In October 2023, Admiral Taverns reopened the Cheshire Cheese pub in Middlewich, Cheshire following its extensive £300,000 refurbishment.

Analyzing the metaverse impact in the foodservice sector

The COVID-19 pandemic brought key IoT use cases to the attention of the T&T industry. However, beyond the use cases catalyzed by the pandemic, the digitalization enabled by IoT solutions provides T&T companies with four key benefits: enhanced operational efficiency, reduced costs, improved decision-making, and better customer experiences. IoT can even assist in the burden of overtourism and the preservation of heritage sites and physical environments. IoT is, therefore, an essential investment for travel and tourism companies in combatting climate change.
