US-based Amy's Drive-Through vegan fast food restaurant chain has expanded its footprint in California by opening its fifth location in Thousand Oaks.
Located at 400 N Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks, the new 4,060ft² restaurant can accommodate 110 guests.
It also features solar shading, special low-emission parking spots and electric vehicle charging stations.
The restaurant brand noted that, like its other restaurants, the Thousand Oaks location is also built using sustainable building materials.
It noted that the new restaurant will operate as sustainably as possible and the food is served in compostable packaging to ensure net-zero and low environmental impact.
Amy's Drive-Through co-founder Andy Berliner said: “Since we started Amy's Drive-Through in 2015, Southern California has been on our radar.
“Our passion is making great-tasting organic fast food convenient and accessible, and the Thousand Oaks community couldn't be a more natural fit.”
The new restaurant offers its guests an array of menu items ranging from burgers, fries, milkshakes and salads.
Amy's Drive-Through claimed that all its menu items are made to order and prepared using organic and non-GMO ingredients.
It also added that every item on the menu can be made gluten-free and vegan.
Additionally, the restaurant chain has partnered with the City of Thousand Oaks on a first-of-its-kind water reuse programme where repurposed water is used in the restaurant and outdoor garden.
Amy's Drive-Through was established in 2015 and currently operates five locations in California.
