Canadian fast food chain A&W has teamed up with Ruffles to launch two new burgers for a limited period.

The companies have announced the debut of the Ruffles Crunch Teen Burger and the Ruffles Crunch Buddy Burger.

A&W Canada menu development director Karan Suri said: “My aim was to add a unique layer of texture to our Teen Burger.

“Ruffles was the perfect choice for a crunchy and delicious addition. The famous ridges of Ruffles chips provide a real crunch and structure to the iconic Teen recipe. Out of all the flavours, the cheesy notes of Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream paired perfectly with our Teen Burger.

“To complete the experience, I had to create the perfect dip for the chip and drew inspiration from Ruffles ridged dippable chips to create the delectable creamy garlic and jalapeño aioli for our Ruffles Crunch Teen Burger.”

The burger features a seasoned grass-fed beef patty topped with Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream crisps, yellow onions, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, bacon, creamy garlic and jalapeño aioli, served on a toasted sesame seed bun.

The Ruffles Crunch Buddy Burger includes a 1.6oz grass-fed beef patty with a layer of Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream crisps, tomato, cheddar cheese, lettuce, jalapeño aioli and garlic in a freshly toasted bun.

The Ruffles Crunch Buddy Burger is available for C$4.99.

Ruffles is part of the Frito Lay Canada portfolio.

Frito Lay Canada chief marketing officer Jess Spaulding said: “Ruffles and A&W are two of Canada's most beloved brands, so we're thrilled to join forces and bring our fans something truly special.

“At Ruffles, our famous ridges are all about delivering bold flavour and an unmistakable crunch, and there's no better pairing for our new Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream chips than the iconic A&W Teen Burger.”

In July 2023, A&W launched three frozen lemonades in Canada for the summer season.
