Benihana, the owner and operator of Japanese teppanyaki and sushi restaurants in the US, is set to expand its presence in the country with the opening of a new location in California.
The new location is set to open on 29 September 2023 at the Promenade Temecula shopping mall of Temecula, 26420 Ynez Road.
It will feature an extensive cocktail bar, a lounge, 21 teppanyaki tables and an entrance for to-go collections and delivery.
Benihana president and CEO Tom Baldwin said: “Temecula is the perfect community for Benihana to call home as we honour our mission to create great guest memories.
“This is our first Benihana in Riverside County and our twelfth in Southern California, so we couldn't be more excited to welcome our Temecula friends and neighbours to celebrate with us as we open our doors to our iconic dining experience.”
The restaurant location will also offer its hibachi and sushi dishes through home delivery services through various third-party food delivery platforms, including Uber Eats, Postmates, GrubHub, DoorDash, EZCater and also through Benihana.com.
Benihana Temecula general manager Lisa Merelo said: “At Benihana, it's not just a meal. It's a one-of-a-kind personal experience that our guests love and remember. We love connecting with each of our guests to create lifelong memories with families and friends.
“Our Temecula restaurant is sure to delight guests with our performing chefs and our delicious, high-quality menu items.”
In the autumn (September-November) this year, Benihana also plans to open its new location at Bayside Marketplace in Miami, Florida.
In early 2024, Benihana plans to open an RA Sushi restaurant in Plantation, Florida. In spring (March to June) 2024, the restaurant brand plans to open in San Mateo, California.
