Fast casual breakfast and brunch concept Biscuit Belly has partnered with Oakscale to expand its franchise system across the south, south-east and Midwest regions of the US.

The restaurant brand was established in 2019 and is known for offering items such as biscuit sandwiches, coffees and breakfast cocktails.

Biscuit Belly co-founder and CEO Chad Coulter said: “We knew early on we’d hit on something that could turn the breakfast and brunch business on its head.

“People have responded very favourably to our offering where we’ve opened thus far and we’re eager to bring it to more markets hungry for an exciting brunch concept by partnering with experienced restaurant operators hungry for an exciting new franchise opportunity.”

Biscuit Belly noted that a six-unit development deal was signed earlier this year by existing franchisees Todd Gallinek and Deepen Patel for Charlotte, North Carolina.

Patel’s Power Brands Hospitality Group already has two Biscuit Belly sites in Alabama as part of an overall portfolio of 40 restaurants.

Biscuit Belly currently has nine open locations in five states, with seven locations set to open within the next 12 months.

Oakscale Development vice-president Ryan Durishin said: “It’s very exciting when you come across a concept that is clearly poised to be a disruptor.

“Fast casual continues to be the rising star in the restaurant industry and we feel strongly that Biscuit Belly will be a shining star in that segment, redefining the breakfast and brunch business.”
