Restaurant chain Black Bear Diner has announced plans to expand its footprint by opening 14 new venues across the US in 2024.

The company will open nine franchise-owned and five corporate-owned diners across California, Texas and Arizona.

The brand has also added two new franchise partners, LVP Foodservice and Gursavri Group, to its system, with additional openings planned during the year.

Through LVP Foodservice, the company plans to open four venues in 2024 in Kansas, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, while Gursavri Group will open a new outlet in Arizona.

The new diners will feature a mix of conversions and new builds, incorporating design enhancements for improved off-premises dining.

Black Bear Diner plans to five new company-owned diners in Texas in 2024.

These will be in San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and Rio Grande Valley, with a further five expected to open in early 2025.

The restaurant chain concluded 2023 with the launch of a new diner in Burleson, Texas, on 13 December. The 5,000ft² location is the third in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Black Bear Diner CEO Anita Adams stated: “The confidence in our brand is strong.

“Based on strong bottom-line performance, existing franchisees are investing in new diner locations, while new franchise partners have come aboard as Black Bear Diner complements their portfolio with our unique full-service brand.”

In August 2023, Black Bear Diner opened a new venue in Tonopah, Arizona.

Located at TravelCenters of America at Exit 103 in Tonopah, the new Black Bear Diner accommodates 158 guests and was the eighth location that the restaurant brand opened with franchisee TravelCenters of America.
