Blaze Pizza, a US-based fast-casual pizza franchise concept, has signed a new development agreement with Red Phoenix Group to expand its presence in Southern California.
Under this agreement, Blaze Pizza is to open five new locations in areas such as Ventura, Santa Barbara, and the Upper San Fernando Valley.
The collaboration with Red Phoenix, led by Ray Luthra and his family, leverages their experience in the foodservice sector.
As second-generation restaurant owners and current Wingstop franchisees, they have previously managed operations of brands such as Denny's, Del Taco, Nékter Juice Bar, and 7-Eleven.
Red Phoenix owner Ray Luthra said: “As we explored options to diversify our holdings, Blaze Pizza stood out as a top choice—we’re fans of the product and know it’s best-in-class.
“Beyond the superior product and brand strength, the Blaze leadership team is energized and brings the expertise needed to drive the brand’s continued growth.”
The first two of these new Blaze Pizza outlets are scheduled to welcome customers in 2025.
With more than 45 different ingredients available for customised pizzas, including plant-based options, Blaze Pizza continues to cater to diverse customer preferences with high-quality ingredients.
Blaze Pizza CEO Beto Guajardo said: “Blaze is entering its next phase of growth and, as the category leader, we offer a tremendous advantage in the fast-casual space.
“We’re thrilled to partner with an experienced, successful, multi-unit group like Red Pheonix Group, to continue the momentum into next year.”
In May 2024, Blaze Pizza announced plans to revamp its menu during this year. The brand's range of new offerings include premium toppings, on-the-go items, new salads and its first in-house dessert.
