Submarine sandwich chain Blimpie has expanded its menu offerings with the addition of two new Italian subs in the US.

The new Italian subs include Italiano Blimp and Caprese Blimp. They will be available on Blimpie menus until 8 January 2024.

Blimpie explained that its Italiano Blimp consists of freshly sliced ham, capicola, proscuittini, salami, pepperoni and provolone, crowned with tomato, lettuce, onion, black olive, mayo, vinegar, oil and oregano.

The Caprese Blimp is also offered with freshly sliced ham, capicola, proscuittini, salami and pepperoni.

The sub is topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato, lettuce, onion, roasted red pepper, banana pepper, basil pesto spread and oregano.

Starting from 2 October 2023, the new subs will be in stores and online nationwide for a limited period.

Blimpie is a subsidiary of Kahala Brands.

Kahala Brands marketing director Sam Carity said: “Blimpie is excited to introduce our new Italian subs to menus nationwide.

“Our new limited-time offerings capture the bold and beloved flavors of Italy, crafted into two satisfying subs that epitomize the year of a Bigger. Better. Blimpie.”

In April this year, Blimpie added two new pizza subs to its menu offerings: the Original Pizza Sub and the Spicy Hawaiian Pizza Sub. Both items were made available in stores and online across the US.

Full-service restaurant (FSR) was the largest profit sector channel in Germany in 2022

The Germany foodservice profit sector generated revenue of EUR84.8 billion ($89.3 billion) in 2022, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 11% during 2022-2027. FSR was the largest foodservice profit sector channel in 2022, reflecting the popularity of traditional fine-dining experiences among German consumers. Despite the highly fragmented market, pub, club & bar channel is set to record the highest growth during 2022–27, triggered by an increase in transactions and average transaction value.
