US-based fast-casual restaurant Brassica has opened its second location in Cleveland, Ohio.

Located at 30070 Detroit Road, Westlake, it will be Brassica's sixth restaurant.

Established in 2015, Brassica is based in Columbus, Ohio, and offers locally sourced ingredients and healthier dining options to its guests.

It is known for its Eastern Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, customised salads and sandwiches.

Its offer also includes baked-to-order pita, Brassica seasoned fries, vegan tahini chocolate chip cookies and freshly squeezed minty pink lemonade.

Brassica founder and CEO Kevin Malhame stated: “We are thrilled to bring the Brassica experience to the West Side of Cleveland.

“Brassica offers delicious, nutritious, and customisable options for our guests. We believe the community will welcome having a restaurant nearby that features so many veggie and meat-friendly options.

“Additionally, we'll offer guests select craft beers and curated wines to pair with their meals.”

The restaurant’s menu offerings also include braised Brandt Farms brisket, just-made falafel and a wide selection of vegetables, most of which are sourced from Ohio.

Falafel made daily using a special blend of spices, fresh herbs and chickpeas is the brand's signature item.

Brassica's operations director Matt LaGrow stated: “Falafel is at its best when it's fresh, hot and crispy. We work hard to serve it that way because we believe it's better.”

Brassica’s Cleveland location will also feature artwork by Ohio artist Sarah Fairchild.

The Westlake location will initially only dine-in services to its guests, but will launch online ordering early next year.
