Vegetarian Middle Eastern restaurant Bubala is preparing to launch its third location in London's King's Cross in April 2025.

The brand, which translates to "darling" in Yiddish, was founded by Marc Summers as a pop-up in Spitalfields in 2019 and opened a second permanent location in Soho in 2021.

The new King's Cross site, its third location, will offer a dining space across two floors, and feature a 6m-high entrance with a halo light installation.

120 covers will be available: a 65-cover ground-floor dining room, 25 covers upstairs and 30 alfresco seats on the outdoor terrace.

At the restaurant’s centre will be an open kitchen with a wood-fired oven and charcoal grill.

A backless bar will face the restaurant.

Marc Summers said: “We’re thrilled to bring Bubala to King’s Cross and to continue expanding our vision of accessible and exciting vegetarian Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine.”

“This new location is a perfect blend of the vibrant energy of the area and the welcoming atmosphere we’ve cultivated at our other restaurants. We can’t wait to share it with our guests.”

The menu has been designed by founder Marc Summers and executive chef Ben Rand. Dishes include oyster mushroom skewers with tamari and coriander seeds, Spanakopita Börek [a cheese and spinach pastry] and charred cucumber tzatziki.

Complementing the food offerings are natural wines, UK-produced beers and Gazoz house sodas.
