Fast food restaurant chain Burger King has announced the launch of its Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries and the relaunch of its Ghost Pepper Whopper for this Halloween.

Beginning on 12 October 2023, the new menu additions will be available across all participating Burger King locations across the US.

The Ghost Pepper Whopper was first launched by the restaurant brand in 2022. It features a flame-grilled 100% beef patty with melted spicy queso, crispy jalapeños, bacon and ghost pepper cheese, all on a toasted orange bun topped with black sesame seeds.

Burger King said that its Chicken Fries have also been introduced with ghost pepper. These will be available in meals of four, eight and 12 pieces with a choice of dipping sauce.

Burger King North America chief marketing officer Pat O’Toole said: “Earlier this year, we asked Guests if we should bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper or introduce Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries.

“The results were split, so we’re adding both products to our menus nationwide this Halloween season, giving Guests multiple ways to enjoy the perfect combination of flavour and heat.

“We’re excited for fans to have a new way to enjoy our signature Chicken Fries and bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper with an eye-catching orange bun achieved with the use of paprika, showing that spook-tacular innovations don’t mean you have to sacrifice quality or flavour.”

Full-service restaurant (FSR) was the largest profit sector channel in Germany in 2022

The Germany foodservice profit sector generated revenue of EUR84.8 billion ($89.3 billion) in 2022, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 11% during 2022-2027. FSR was the largest foodservice profit sector channel in 2022, reflecting the popularity of traditional fine-dining experiences among German consumers. Despite the highly fragmented market, pub, club & bar channel is set to record the highest growth during 2022–27, triggered by an increase in transactions and average transaction value.
