Buyers Edge Platform has expanded its technology offerings for European restaurants with the acquisition of Swedish company Parsly.

The strategic move represents Buyers Edge Platform's fifth European acquisition in 2024.

Founded in 2021, Parsly emerged as a solution to the significant challenges the restaurant industry faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company was created by Leo Kia and Ramzi Ferchichi, with the aim of saving time and money for restaurateurs by streamlining supply administration.

They developed a service that automates administrative tasks such as invoice management, allowing restaurateurs to concentrate on their core business activities.

The company's AI-driven platform is designed to help restaurants manage procurement costs, offering autonomous services that enhance profitability without demanding extra time or effort from restaurateurs.

Kia said: “Buyers Edge Platform was the ideal acquirer for us because of our shared values and commitment to utilising the latest technologies to help restaurant operators maximise the return on their hard work.”

Parsly anticipates using Buyers Edge Platform's expanded resources and assistance to expedite development.

Buyers Edge Platform founder and CEO John Davie said: “We have always been committed to delivering the best procurement technologies to our stakeholders across the foodservice ecosystem and Parsly is going to add new functionality to our tech offerings.

“We have been rapidly expanding our European operations and Parsly will bolster our already-established foothold in the European foodservice market.”

Established in 1998, Buyers Edge Platform aims to revolutionise the foodservice sector through technology, partnership and purchasing power.

The company collaborates with stakeholders including distributors, operators and manufacturers, to provide data visibility and purchasing transparency.

Its portfolio spans digital procurement network, fresh solutions, supply chain management and software, delivering integrated solutions to more than 200,000 restaurant operator locations.
