Casual US dining restaurant chain California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has relaunched its Tostada Pizza due to popular demand.
The company has announced that its customers will have the authority to determine how long the pizza will be available.
From 26 March 2024, the Tostada Pizza will be available at all company-owned CPK locations.
Tostada pizzas will remain on the menu for longer if more than 1,000 are sold between 26 and 31 March.
Customers can monitor the progress of sales on the CPK website or via the company's social media channels.
The Tostada Pizza features a crispy thin crust and is layered with black beans, Monterey Jack and Queso Quesadilla cheeses then finished with lettuce, tortilla strips, housemade herb ranch and flame-roasted tomato salsa.
There is the option to add chicken or carne asada for an additional charge.
California Pizza Kitchen culinary innovation vice-president Paul Pszybylski said: “At CPK, we are always on a mission to bring fresh, innovative, and bold flavours to our guests.
"Our guests told us how much they love these flavours – we received countless requests both in-person and through social media to bring back the Tostada Pizza – so we chose to add two more bold and exciting menu items as a bonus.
“It’s extremely rewarding as a chef to be able to bring back a guest’s favourite, while also introducing them to something new.”
CPK is also introducing the Green Chili Enchilada Pizza and the Casa Paloma cocktail to its menu.
The Green Chili Enchilada Pizza offers a twist on a classic enchilada with grilled chicken, charred poblano peppers, salsa verde and feta cheese on a hand-tossed crust.
The Casa Paloma cocktail, made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila, grapefruit, mint, ginger and lime, provides a fresh alternative to the traditional Margarita.
Earlier this year, CPK expanded its offerings with three new limited-edition items: the Korean BBQ Steak Pizza, Miso Shrimp Salad and the Tito ‘Rita cocktail.
The Korean BBQ Steak Pizza also made a comeback due to customer demand.
