Caribou Coffee has expanded its presence in the US with a new location in Mooresville, North Carolina.

This is its second new location in the state in 2024, part of the brand's strategic growth initiative.

The coffee chain, which operates under the Panera Brands umbrella, now has 12 locations in North Carolina.

Caribou plans additional coffeehouses by the end of 2024, concentrating on the Charlotte metro area.

Caribou Coffee's operates 800 coffeehouses in 11 countries. Its growth is fuelled by a mix of company-owned and franchisee-owned developments.

Recent openings in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin are part of the brand's strategy to expand its presence in both new and existing markets.

Through an expanded development agreement with current franchisees, the brand anticipates similar growth on an international scale.

In April 2024, Caribou Coffee expanded its beverage menu in the US by permanently adding two new iced drink lines: Fruit Shakers and Energy Drinks.

The Fruit Shakers, available in strawberry, peach or berry punch flavours, are made with real fruit and fruit juices blended with coconut milk for a creamy texture.

The Energy Drinks are offered in four flavours: blue raspberry, peach mango, pomegranate acai and strawberry pineapple.

Caribou Coffee's summer menu also included Glazed Donuts and the return of the Strawberry Shortcake Pop.

The Glazed Donut is a yeast ring doughnut topped with a sweet glaze. The Strawberry Shortcake Pop is a white sponge cake infused with natural strawberry flavour, dipped in pink-coloured white chocolate and topped with pink and white pearls.
