American coffeehouse chain Caribou Coffee has announced the addition of new pumpkin-based drinks to its autumn menu line-up.

Beginning 24 August 2023, guests can pick their drink from 15 different handcrafted beverages.

Its new beverage line ranges from its recently introduced Pumpkin Espresso Shaker to the Pumpkin Iced Crafted Press.

The coffee house chain launched Espresso Shakers with Oatmilk in March this year, and the new Pumpkin Espresso Shaker is the latest to join three other flavours including caramel, vanilla and white chocolate.

Caribou Coffee explained that each Espresso Shaker combines espresso with real pumpkin purée, caramel, vanilla flavour, or white chocolate.

The company claims that all its beverages are created with premium ingredients such as real pumpkin purée and are free from artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, or preservatives.

Caribou Coffee product and procurement senior vice-president Matt Reiter said: “Pumpkin is one of the most highly anticipated seasonal flavours in the industry and we're ecstatic to welcome guests to fall with our extensive pumpkin menu.

“With a wide variety of menu items and endless customisations, there is something for everyone to enjoy this fall season whether they want their pumpkin shaken, iced, blended, hot or with nitro cold press.”

Caribou Coffee, which is part of Panera Brands, offers handcrafted coffee-forward beverages and food options in more than 750 coffeehouses located globally.

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
