American fast-food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A is set to bolster its presence in Alberta, Canada, with the opening of three new restaurants in 2024.
The company plans to open 20 outlets in the province by 2030.
Chick-fil-A International vice-president Paul Trotti said: “Alberta has an incredible growth story and is an exciting place for us to continue our expansion in Canada. We can’t wait to offer new guests in the province an authentic Chick-fil-A experience.
“Each Chick-fil-A restaurant in Alberta will be led by an entrepreneur - an independent local owner-operator committed to creating jobs, developing leaders and making an impact in the communities they serve.”
Construction will begin in February 2024 on a new Chick-fil-A restaurant at West Edmonton Mall, with its opening scheduled between June and August.
This will be followed by the start of construction at Macleod Trail in Calgary and South Edmonton Common later in the spring.
The upcoming Chick-fil-A locations in Calgary and Edmonton mark the chain's first venture outside Ontario since the inaugural Canadian restaurant opened at Yonge & Bloor in Toronto in 2019.
Each new location will employ 80 to 120 staff members, adding to the 1,000 current employees across 13 locations in Ontario.

In January 2024, Chick-fil-A expanded its presence in the state of Missouri with the opening of a new restaurant in Springfield.
The location, owned and operated by Brian Heberlie, offers drive-thru, dine-in and carry-out options.
