US-based chicken salad restaurant Chicken Salad Chick is all set to further expand its presence in Alabama by opening its 29th store in the state.

Located at 19690 Greeno Road, the new restaurant will be opened to the public on 29 August 2023 and will have a patio and a convenient drive-through facility.

To celebrate the opening, the first 100 guests will win free chicken salad for a year.

The restaurant brand noted that Misty and Peter Whitehead will own its Fairhope venue. This will be the pair's sixth Chicken Salad Chick location.

Misty and Peter Whitehead have been associated with the brand for the past ten years. Misty Whitehead opened the first Chicken Salad Chick restaurant in Hillcrest in 2013 before opening additional locations on Old Shell Road, Government Plaza and Daphne.

Later, Misty partnered with her husband, Peter, to expand the brand's footprint into Gulf Shores and Saraland.

Misty Whitehead said: “Peter and I love being part of the day-to-day of our restaurants, getting to know our guests and helping to put smiles on their faces.

“We have really been looking forward to opening in Fairhope, with its Southern charm, beauty and hospitality. It's a perfect fit for Chicken Salad Chick's focus on service from the heart.”

In June this year, Chicken Salad Chick announced that it would open its new location in Colorado.

Located at 5660 Barnes Road in Colorado Springs, the new location will be the brand’s second location in the region.

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
