Chicken Salad Chick has announced its expansion into Kansas with a three-unit franchise agreement set to bring the brand to Johnson County in the Kansas City market.
The expansion is the brand's first venture into the state, with sisters Jo Anne Williams and Cindy Sulzman at the helm of the new locations.
The sisters, both natives of Kansas City, are embarking on their first joint business endeavour.
The new outlets will cater to the suburbs of Prairie Village, Olathe, Overland Park and Lenexa, with plans to open by 2025.
Williams will take charge of business development and back-office operations, while Sulzman will manage retail operations, catering and merchandising.
Cindy Sulzman said: “We're thrilled to share Chicken Salad Chick's classic, made-from-scratch food and Southern hospitality with our friends, neighbors and communities in Johnson County.”
Adding to the family business, Jo Anne's husband, Kirk, an experienced restaurant operator and franchisee, will oversee the restaurant operations and development.
The brand's expansion signifies its growing presence in the Midwest, with new locations set to serve both the Missouri and Kansas sides of the Kansas City market.
Chicken Salad Chick venture co-owner Jo Anne Williams said: “I first discovered Chicken Salad Chick in 2012 with my sister on one of our trips to Destin, Florida. We love the concept and ultimately decided to bring it to Kansas.”
In September 2024, Chicken Salad Chick announced a new location in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
