US-based fast casual restaurant chain Chicken Salad Chick has added a new sandwich offering, The Chick Melt, to its menu.

The Chick Melt is the restaurant brand’s first melted speciality sandwich.

Chicken Salad Chick chief marketing officer Tom Carr said: “It's our goal that The Chick Melt creates a moment of joy for guests who bite into it and that it lives up to their high expectations of Chicken Salad Chick, which is why we tested it in select locations before adding it to our menu.

“We even had guests describe it as 'life changing,' and there's a reason why. This sandwich checks all the boxes! It's toasty, cheesy, and melty, and of course, it features any of our made-from-scratch chicken salads. We're now excited to launch The Chick Melt across the brand.”

The restaurant brand noted that customers can choose one of its 12+ salad flavours and pair it with provolone cheese, all on a toasted, buttery croissant.

The brand also noted that The Chick Melt is now served to guests across all its 240+ locations in the US.

Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney said: “We hope this newest addition to our menu not only satisfies the palates of our guests but also demonstrates Chicken Salad Chick's unwavering commitment to our purpose of spreading joy, enriching lives, and serving others.

“The Chick Melt represents our brand's innovation while staying true to our roots. It is a product of listening to our guests and remaining fully committed to serving quality, delicious meals.”

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
