US-based fast casual chicken salad restaurant concept Chicken Salad Chick is set to open its second location in the Triangle within the city limits of Raleigh, North Carolina.

The new location will be opening its doors for guests on 14 November 2023 and will offer the first 100 guests free chicken salad for a year.

Located at 2414 Wycliff Road in the Food Lion shopping centre, Chicken Salad Chick at Lake Boone Trail will have the capacity to accommodate 90 guests within the restaurant and a further 50 on the outdoor patio.

The new location is owned by John Schuster and Mike Saccone, who first owned a Chicken Salad Chick store in the North Carolina town of Cary in 2020.

Schuster said: “So many of our Cary guests over the past three years travel from within Raleigh city limits and ask us when we're going to open closer to them.

“It's been our plan since our first days with Chicken Salad Chick to bring a total of six locations to the Triangle, so this is an exciting next step in our expansion goals.

“We couldn't have done it without the continued support of Chick fans in Cary and our amazing team members who embody the brand's hospitality and service from the heart every day.”

In October 2023, Chicken Salad Chick announced that it would open a new restaurant in Ocean Springs, Mississippi on 1 November.

It will be the brand’s third location along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
