Israeli coffee shop and bar Cofix is set to enter the Armenian market, with its first store in the country's capital city, Yerevan, World Coffee Portal has reported.
The new venture is a result of a partnership with Galaxy Group, a prominent local master franchisee.
The flagship store, which measures 766ft², is located in the Yerevan Mall shopping centre and will open to the public in February 2024.
The franchise has ambitious plans for Armenia, aiming to launch ten additional venues in 2024.
Galaxy Group has a diverse portfolio, managing 15 businesses across Armenia, Georgia and Belarus, including hospitality brands such as Paul, SantaFe and Pahest 33.
Cofix is set to introduce a four-tier pricing system in Armenia, making its offerings accessible to a wide range of customers. Prices for beverages will range between 600 dram ($1.49) and 1,500 dram ($3.71).
Established in 2013, Cofix currently operates more than 400 outlets across Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia and Spain.
Cofix Global chief operating officer Shaun Lewis said: “By aligning with strong local partners like Galaxy Group, we ensure that our global growth is grounded in local market understanding and operational excellence. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all strategy.
“Our approach is to tailor our presence, ensuring that while Cofix’s core values remain constant, each outlet reflects the local character and preferences. Cofix Armenia exemplifies this approach, and we are excited to bring this unique experience to our guests in Yerevan.”
In September 2023, Cofix opened its first store in Spain and unveiled plans to open up to 80 outlets in the western European country.
The restaurant chain noted that its menu was tailored for the Spanish market, including an extended range of cold coffees and mocktails to attract younger consumers in the early evenings.
