Foodservice e-commerce solutions provider Cut+Dry has announced the launch of its new AI Prospecting tool for foodservice distributors.

The tech company said that its new tool has been designed and developed to help the distributors increase their revenue and customer base.

AI Prospecting Tool is part of the 'Yes, Chef!' AI platform, which Cut+Dry launched in September 2023.

The new tool will help foodservice distributors identify and create digital proposals for potential customers. It scans restaurant menus and compares them to distributor partners' catalogues.

Once completed, sales personnel can select a particular area and look for possible clients. The tech company then automatically provides a list of prospects ranked for them.

Cut+Dry claims that the list generated is highly targeted based on the largest opportunities.

It also provides insights on pricing strategies to maximise profits, taking into account elements such as menu prices and client feedback.

Cut+Dry co-founder and CEO Mani Kulasooriya said: “The launch of our AI Prospecting tool is a testament to our unwavering commitment to driving innovation and growth in the foodservice industry.

“We’ve been in foodservice for over a decade and understand the critical importance of in-person relationships. Our AI prospecting tool streamlines the manual, non-face-to-face aspects of prospecting, giving distributors more time to cultivate personal relationships and make sales.

“Our ‘Yes, Chef!’ prospecting tool would not be possible if we did not already have 4+ years of structured data to fine-tune the AI. Chat GPT is a powerful tool, but without private, structured data, it can only provide generic results.”

Robots are well established in consumer goods and packaging industries, though adoption in foodservice is at a nascent stage

Current metaverse applications in the T&T sector either focus on digital marketing campaigns with real-world rewards for consumers, creating immersive experiences on-site for digitally savvy consumers through AR and VR metaverses, or improving operational efficiency through digital twin technology. As the metaverse evolves, it could offer virtual travel opportunities that complement traditional tourism. However, uptake of the metaverse by smaller travel and tourism operators will remain limited until use cases are affordable and provide a guaranteed return on investment.
