American quick-service restaurant chain Del Taco has announced the limited-time relaunch of Shredded Beef Birria, Nacho Cheese and Funnel Cake Fries for this summer.
The Shredded Beef Birria offerings, which were initially launched in Autumn 2023, are prepared by braising the meat for several hours with traditional spices and chili peppers.
The menu features a variety of items, including tacos served with consomé dip, a quesadilla, ramen, and a new grilled combo burrito, all incorporating shredded beef birria.
The 2 Shredded Beef Birria Tacos + Consomé Dip includes two tacos with house-grated cheddar cheese, shredded beef birria, onions, cilantro, and lime wedges, accompanied by a side of consomé.
The Shredded Beef Birria Quesadilla + Consomé Dip combines the beef with cheese and green sauce in a flat-grilled flour tortilla, also served with consomé.
The Shredded Beef Birria Ramen features the chain's beef broth consomé with ramen noodles, beef birria, onions, cilantro, and a lime wedge.
The New Shredded Beef Birria Grilled Combo Burrito + Consomé Dip wraps the birria with beans, cheese, green sauce, onions, and cilantro in a grilled flour tortilla.
Alongside the birria items, Del Taco has reintroduced its Nacho Cheese menu. The Macho Nachos come with house-made tortilla chips, nacho cheese, a choice of protein, beans, sour cream, tomatoes, and jalapeños.
The dessert offering, Funnel Cake Fries, features fried dough dusted with powdered sugar.
Del Taco chief administrative officer Sarah McAloon said: “It’s not every day we get to celebrate such a monumental anniversary, and what better way to honour the fans than bringing back one of the most popular retired items – Nacho Cheese.
“We had to go big with the festivities, so we are also bringing back our popular Shredded Beef Birria and Funnel Cake Fries while staying true to our Del Taco Better Mex promise to offer bold, fresh flavours at affordable prices.”
Earlier in March 2024, Del Taco launched a promotion for its Crispy Chicken Tacos and Egg and Cheese Breakfast Rollers, priced at two for $3.
