Dolomite Restaurants has launched Jamie Oliver’s new all-day dining concept, Jamie Oliver Kitchen, in Gujrat, India, ET Hospitality World has reported.

Located at Palladium Mall in Ahmedabad, the new restaurant will be the group’s first 100% vegetarian venture.

In India, Dolomite Restaurants operates 20 casual dining outlets of Jamie’s Italian and Jamie’s Pizzeria brands.

The publication quoted Jamie Oliver Restaurants India managing director Jasper Reid as saying: “Ever since I grew up and saw the vibrant and highly successful Gujarati community in the UK, I’ve wanted to open a restaurant in Ahmedabad.

“This is a decades-old dream and we are so honoured to be able to serve our customers in this great state capital and to make new friends for life.

“We hope to be as successful as the Gujaratis who went to the UK and promise we will work hard, learn from Gujarat and earn our right to be part of the community. This is the first all-vegetarian Jamie’s restaurant anywhere on earth and I cannot think of a better place to launch.”

The restaurant will offer a fully vegetarian menu, developed specially for the Ahmedabad restaurant location.

Its menu will range from a morning coffee to a cosy dinner and mocktails.

The publication quoted Jamie Oliver as saying: “I am so happy to be opening my first-ever vegetarian restaurant in Ahmedabad. Jamie Oliver Kitchen is the ultimate tribute to my food travels and we’re dishing up some of my all-time favourite combinations from around the world.

“The key thing you need to know is that it’s a menu designed for sharing. Dining with us is about more than food – it’s about making memories with your loved ones.”

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
