US-based fire-grilled chicken restaurant chain El Pollo Loco has announced the return of its Double Pollo Fit Bowls to menus nationwide for a limited period.  

The bowls are known for their high protein content - exceeding 50 grams - and are crafted with quality ingredients to cater to customers seeking healthier meal options. 

Available until 19 February 2025, these bowls can be purchased at El Pollo Loco restaurants across the country from $10.99.  

The Classic Double Pollo Fit Bowl features a Super Greens blend of spinach and lettuce, topped with a double portion of citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chopped chicken breast served with sliced avocado, shredded red cabbage and carrots, queso fresco, pepitas, salsa fresca and cilantro [coriander] dressing.

The Street Corn Double Pollo Fit Bowl also begins with the Super Greens blend, then adds roasted corn and red peppers to the double portion of grilled chicken and is served with avocado, queso fresco, chili lime seasoning, salsa fresca and cilantro dressing. 

El Pollo Loco chief marketing officer Jill Adams said: “Our Double Pollo Fit Bowls are the perfect option when you’re craving bold, delicious flavours but don’t want to compromise your goals.  

“Whether you’re looking to specifically increase your protein intake or get a head start on healthy eating habits for the new year, we’ve got you covered.” 

Loco Rewards members can enjoy the Classic Double Pollo Fit Bowl for $7 on 12 December as part of the brand's 12 Days of Pollo promotion. 

In July 2024, El Pollo Loco expanded its menu with three new fire-grilled chicken burritos, featuring handmade guacamole at no additional charge.
