Epson has announced a partnership with Kitchen Armor, a restasurant kitchen solutions provider, aiming to enhance its TrueOrder Kitchen Display System (KDS).

This partnership will enable Kitchen Armor to integrate Curbit's capabilities— claimed to be the industry’s first AI-powered kitchen capacity management solution for restaurants— along with new hardware options into the TrueOrder KDS.

The goal is to enhance kitchen performance and improve order status communication via SMS.

Through this partnership, Epson and Kitchen Armor aim to offer advanced, user-friendly kitchen technology to mid-sized chains and single-location operators, helping them enhance take-out efficiency, order accuracy, and guest communication to better compete with larger corporate chains.

TrueOrder KDS with Kitchen Armor is claimed to be an “affordable, easy-to-setup and easy-to- install” kitchen display system designed to boost productivity from food prep to order fulfillment.

Kitchen Armor manufactures durable stainless steel touch solutions and custom mounting options with power over ethernet capabilities, simplifying hardware installation.

Kitchen Armor is the official reseller of Curbit’s services, and through this partnership with Epson, Curbit's capabilities will be integrated into the TrueOrder KDS.

Curbit enables restaurants to efficiently manage take-out orders by using real-time kitchen data and AI to determine the best time to start digital orders.

It also provides real-time order progress updates to guests and delivery drivers via SMS.

Via this partnership, Curbit’s features— including SMS progress updates and detailed speed of service reporting— will be integrated into the TrueOrder KDS.

Kitchen Armor co-founder Paul Amestoy said: “We are excited to work with Epson and strengthen our partnership with Curbit as we continue to be the industry-leading turn-key solutions provider for a diverse array of quick-service restaurants. This partnership will further allow customers to enhance their kitchen production, achieve better order accuracy and enhance customer communication.”

Building on Epson’s existing TrueOrder KDS offerings from MicroTouch, Logic Controls, and Elo, this partnership expands customer options for implementing the intuitive and powerful TrueOrder KDS software, stated Epson.

The system is “easy to set up” and offers a customisable browser-based configuration utility to fit any kitchen’s workflow. It can support up to nine stations across the kitchen, ensuring order information is directed to the appropriate station for efficient handling.

Epson America product manager Tessa Kohl said: “Many restaurants are looking to optimize kitchen efficiency, especially when managing orders coming from a range of third-party ordering and delivery apps, and we are excited to work with Kitchen Armor to deliver world-class solutions to meet these needs.”
