FAT Brands, owner of the fast-casual restaurant chain Fatburger, has entered a development agreement to set up six additional franchised Fatburger sites in Hidalgo County, Texas, US.

These new locations will be launched over the coming five years.

The latest move continues the company’s growth trajectory in the US state.

Last month, FAT Brands launched its first-ever co-branded Fatburger and Round Table Pizza site in Lantana, Texas.

The 3,500ft² site marks the first of the four Fatburger and Round Table Pizza co-branded outlets envisioned for the greater Dallas area operated by SNM Management Group.

In July 2023, FAT Brands opened a new Fatburger outlet in San Antonio, Texas.

Fatburger burgers can be customised with items such as eggs, bacon and onion rings.

The brand also offers hand-breaded crispy chicken sandwiches, hand-scooped milkshakes made from real ice cream, Fat and Skinny Fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings.

FAT Brands chief development officer Taylor Wiederhorn said: “Fatburger has a pipeline of approximately 50 restaurants to be built in Texas alone and the franchisee demand to develop more Fatburger restaurants throughout the state has not slowed down. We look forward to adding six more restaurants to our existing development pipeline in Texas with further growth near the southern border.”

Fat Brands owns 18 restaurant brands, including Fazoli’s, Pretzelmaker, Native Grill & Wings and Round Table Pizza.

It franchises and owns more than 2,300 units globally.
