US-based Korean quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise Flame Broiler has expanded its menu offerings with the addition of Korean Spicy Chicken.

The restaurant brand explained that Korean Spicy Chicken has been permanently added to its menu and is now available for purchase across all its restaurants in the country.

Korean Spicy Chicken will serve as a protein option for Flame Broiler's bowls and entrees.

Flame Broiler founder and CEO Young Lee said: “We wanted to create something that reflects the flavours of my childhood growing up in South Korea and Los Angeles.

“Our Korean Spicy Chicken is a celebration of Flame Broiler's roots and embodies the essence of who we are while delivering a tasty experience for our guests.”

The restaurant brand added that its Korean Spicy Chicken is inspired by the flavours of gochujang and sesame.

It said that the chicken dish complements its charbroiled chicken and gives their menu a spicy edge.

Flame Broiler noted that the dish was well received by the customers when it was introduced previously for a limited time.

Since its inception in 1995, Flame Broiler has been focused on offering guests simple and healthy fast food.

Its menu offerings include white or brown rice, Angus beef, no antibiotics ever (NAE) chicken, organic tofu and vegetables. It doesn't use dairy or fryers.

The Korean-inspired franchise currently has a presence across five US states, including California, Arizona, Oklahoma, Florida and North Carolina.
