Fogo de Chão, a restaurant chain specialising in southern Brazilian cuisine, has signed a lease agreement to open its first location in Richmond, Virginia, US.

Located in West Broad Village, the new outlet is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan said: “Following the success of the Reston location, we were eager to bring another location to Virginia. We are thrilled to open our first Richmond restaurant at West Broad Village and introduce the culinary art of churrasco to the local community.

“We look forward to welcoming guests in Richmond soon to give them culinary discoveries you can’t find at any other restaurant.”

The new restaurant will showcase Fogo’s recent brand transformation with enhanced design and innovation platforms.

It will have an expansive dining room centred around an open churrasco grill and a white Carrera marble Market Table featuring seasonal salads, fresh superfoods, cured meats, antipasti and more.

The new restaurant's everyday offerings include weekday lunch, weekend Brazilian brunch, bar Fogo, group and private dining and a full-service catering option that includes on-site cooking with portable churrasco grills, gaucho chefs and a curated dining experience.

Last month, Fogo de Chão unveiled its new autumn menu in the US.

The new menu will be available for a limited period and includes beet tartare, rainbow kale and pomegranate salad, roasted apple and butternut squash and lentil soup.

Full-service restaurant (FSR) was the largest profit sector channel in Germany in 2022

Per GlobalData, the Germany foodservice profit sector is expected to grow at a CAGR of >11% during 2022-2027. FSR was the largest foodservice profit sector channel in 2022, with a share of 26.5%, reflecting the popularity of traditional fine-dining experiences among German consumers.
