GEN Restaurant Group, parent company of casual dining concept GEN Korean BBQ, has announced the opening of two new locations in Edison, New Jersey and in Orlando, Florida. 

The openings are part of GEN’s strategy to expand into key markets where food enthusiasts and families look for a “high-quality dining experiences with a modern twist”. 

GEN chief executive officer David Kim stated: “We are pleased our national expansion plans are progressing as we work to open new restaurants during the first quarter of 2025. 

“Expanding into New Jersey and opening a GEN location in a new Florida market ensures we are reaching more audiences that appreciate our Korean barbecue experience. We see great potential in the New Jersey and Florida markets and want to continue building momentum across key states.” 

Edison, New Jersey claims to present an ideal setting to introduce GEN’s signature “grill at your table" style due to its “cultural richness” and robust culinary scene. 

The culinary landscape of Orlando is enhanced by its diverse population and its global tourist destination status makes it an ideal market location for GEN. 

Its menu consists of traditional Korean and Korean-American food featuring meats, poultry, seafood and mixed vegetables. 

GEN Korean BBQ in Edison, New Jersey is located at the Festival Plaza, 1763 State Route 27. The GEN Korean BBQ in Orlando, Florida is located in the Waterford Lakes Town Center, 525 N Alafaya Trail, Unit K05.  

Both outlets are open from 11am to 10:30pm from Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 11:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. 

In September 2024, GEN Korean BBQ launched its latest restaurant in Maui, Hawaii, situated in the Puunene Shopping Center.
