American fast-food restaurant chain Hardee's has announced the relaunch of the Hardee's Original Bag, a meal deal that allows customers to mix and match two full-size entrées for only $5.99.

The offer includes popular items such as the Original Hot Ham & Cheese, the Double Cheeseburger and Hand Breaded Chicken Tender Wraps.

In selected markets, additional local favourites such as the Chili Dog and Regular Roast Beef Sandwich are available as part of the Original Bag.

Alongside the entrées, the Original Bag also comes with small fries and a drink, with the option to upgrade to a medium or large for an additional payment.

Hardee's Marketing vice-president Sarah Breymaier said: “What makes Hardee's so special is the craft-made quality and home-town hospitality our guests love, paired with the convenience and value they need.

“From our premium, all-white-meat chicken tenders hand-dipped in buttermilk, to our charbroiled beef patties, the new Hardee's Original Bag is the perfect nod to our history and to the loyal guests who've been with us for generations.”

The relaunch aligns with Hardee's strategy to capitalise on the craft-quality reputation of its lunch and dinner menu.

The decision to re-introduce the Original Bag comes after Hardee's announced plans to re-open a restaurant in Dillon, South Carolina.

The new establishment will stand on the same site as the previous one, which was demolished to make way for the new construction.

Hardee's has been focusing on engaging its customer base. In June 2024 it offered free three-piece Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders to My Rewards members during the basketball season's final weeks.

Known for its hand-crafted menu items, the restaurant chain has further expanded its offerings with the recent addition of the new Nashville Hot Chicken in September 2023.

The spicy entrée joins a line-up that includes Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich, Tenders and Biscuit.

Hardee's, operated by CKE Restaurants, runs 1,600 restaurants across the US and has a presence in 13 countries worldwide.

The brand's extensive network includes 3,600 franchised or company-operated restaurants in domestic and international markets, including US territories.
