Jeremy King, a restaurateur and the co-founder of The Wolseley, has taken the lease of the Le Caprice restaurant brand and plans to open the Mayfair restaurant location in the new year, according to the Caterer.

In 1981, King, along with his business partner Chris Corbin, acquired the Le Caprice site and created a contemporary restaurant.

Le Caprice restaurant is said to have attracted many celebrity clientele.

However, the restaurant was later acquired by Richard Caring, who shut the restaurant in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the divesture of Le Caprice, King and Corbin have reportedly opened many restaurants in London such as The Wolseley, Colbert and Fischer's.

For this reopening, King will also be joined by Jesus Adorno, the former director of the restaurant, who was also with Corbin and King when they acquired the site in 1981.

The Caterer quoted King as saying: “Adorno had been "integral" to the restaurant's success and that together the pair would "aim to recreate a restaurant that for many of our customers over the years was the one they professed their greatest love for.

“It will of course be a new version but I hope you will find it reassuringly familiar in how it looks and what we serve.”

According to the Times report, the new restaurant will likely trade under a new name called Caring.
