US-based sandwich chain Jimmy John’s (JJ's) has expanded its menu with the launch of its BBQ Ranch Chicken Crunch in the US.

The restaurant brand noted that BBQ Ranch Chicken Crunch is sweet and saucy and is available as a sandwich or wrap.

As a sandwich, the BBQ Ranch Chicken Crunch can be served on freshly baked French bread. As a wrap, it will be served in a savoury garlic and herb tortilla.

The restaurant noted that this new menu item comprises all-natural chicken, a sweet and savoury house-made BBQ ranch sauce, Kickin’ Ranch sauces, crispy tortilla strips, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.

Jimmy John’s Culinary Innovation director Dustin Hilinski said: “Keeping with the Jimmy John’s tradition of bringing our loyal fans bold and unexpected sandwiches, we’re thrilled to unveil this unique flavour combination, along with the choice of enjoying it as a more traditional sandwich or a wrap.

“This fresh take on the BBQ chicken sandwich (or wrap) goes beyond the basics and we believe it will keep customers coming back for more.”

The brand added that the new item will be available for a limited period across all participating JJ’s locations in the US.

Jimmy John’s is part of Inspire Brands and currently operates more than 2,600 restaurants across 44 US states.

In May this year, JJ re-launched its Chicken Caesar and Thai Chicken Wraps across all participating locations.

Quick commerce steadily becoming the norm for most food and grocery delivery companies

The emergence of ecommerce has made it imperative that companies understand consumer behavior, deliver personalized service, and offer competitive pricing models. Per GlobalData estimates, food and drink, clothing and footwear, and accommodation were the top three sectors by global ecommerce transactions in 2022. The rise of quick commerce, particularly within food and drink, allows consumers to have items delivered to their doorstep within the hour, which has driven a surge in online sales for food and drink.
