The Jollibee Group has marked the arrival of Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR) in the Philippines with the opening of its first café in Makati City.
Located at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, the opening of the new CMCR venue is part of Jollibee Group's strategic growth strategy.
Jollibee Group president and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said: “We’re excited to bring the Common Man Coffee Roasters into the country and give the community an elevated café experience.
“Common Man’s consciously sourced coffee and numerous deliciously healthy brunch options contribute to this experience and help fulfil our mission of spreading the joy of eating to everyone. We invite everyone to come visit our first ever Common Man Coffee Roasters café.”
Established in 2013, CMCR began as a brunch-focused café in Singapore and has since expanded to Malaysia.
The Philippines is the latest market to welcome the brand, which is known for its speciality coffee and brunch offerings.
The newly launched CMCR venue will serve Nitro Honey Oat Latte and Filter Brew.
The brunch menu offers the Common Man Full Breakfast: sausage, bacon, portobello mushrooms, hash browns, chorizo beans, greens and artisanal sourdough, and the Common Man Beef Brisket Benedict, a dish combining braised beef with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.
The new location houses its own coffee bean roastery.
In August 2023, Jollibee Group formed a joint venture with Food Collective Pte Ltd through FCJB Foods, to manage and operate CMCR in the Philippines. Jollibee Group holds a 60% stake in FCJB Foods.
Spa Esprit Group CEO Koon Beng Chua said: “Having a roastery on site for us to showcase the roasting method will not only help customers understand the coffee process better, but it will also offer a unique dining and sensory experience for them.”
