KFC Australia has relaunched the Popcorn Chicken Slab for a limited time after a two-year hiatus.

The item was first launched in the Australian market in 2020.

The relaunch coincides with the Footy Finals and is available across KFC stores until 30 September 2024.

Popcorn Chicken Slab consists of six dinner rolls designed for pulling apart, filled with KFC's signature Popcorn Chicken and topped with cheese and BBQ sauce.

The item is available as a stand-alone option or as part of a combo for one or two people, which includes fries and a drink.

KFC also offers The Slab Feast, a larger meal option that includes Original Recipe chicken, Chicken Tenders, fries and a side of sauce.

KFC Australia chief marketing officer Tami Cunningham said: “We have been overwhelmed with requests from fans to bring this favourite back, so we are thrilled to announce that The Slab is available nationwide for the first time since 2022, just in time for the Footy Finals.

“This fan favourite is perfect for sharing with friends or family, but get in quick, because it’s not going to be around forever.”

In May 2024, KFC Australia introduced a crispier version of its original burger series.

The crispy burger series represented a permanent extension of KFC Australia’s menu.

KFC Australia's burger series features The Original Crispy, the Original Crispy Cheese and Bacon, and the Original Crispy Stacker, all served with mayonnaise on the brand's signature chicken fillet.
