Krispy Kreme has announced changes to its global leadership team, aimed at ‘driving growth’ and expanding its capital-light international franchise model.

Nicola Steele has been appointed as the new chief operating officer (COO) and will be responsible for “modernising” doughnut production’ and maximise the “hub-and-spoke efficiency”.

With more than 15 years of experience within the company, Steele currently serves as president of Krispy Kreme Australia & New Zealand.

Dave Skena steps into the role of chief growth officer, where he will spearhead omni-channel growth across retail shops, direct-to-consumer (DFD), and digital sales channels globally.

Additionally, Skena will oversee global marketing initiatives designed to increase consumer engagement with Krispy Kreme's fresh doughnuts.

Raphael Duvivier has been appointed as president of International, and is responsible for expanding the company's presence through its capital-light franchise model, with particular focus on Europe and Latin America.

Alison Holder takes on the position of chief product officer, and is in-charge of introducing innovative doughnut offerings to Krispy Kreme customers worldwide while managing global quality and sourcing.

These executives will report directly to Krispy Kreme CEO Josh Charlesworth.

The appointments took effect on 6 January 2025, except for Steele who will assume her new role on 3 March 2025.

Charlesworth said: “These leaders all have extensive company experience, commitment to operational excellence and passion for our iconic fresh doughnuts and beloved brand.

“As we grow, these leadership changes will result in both a bigger and better Krispy Kreme.”

Earlier in January 2025, Krispy Kreme collaborated with Pop-Tarts to launch the Krispy Kreme × Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Doughnuts Collection.

This new range features three flavours: Frosted Strawberry Doughnut, Frosted Chocolatey Fudge Doughnut, and Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Doughnut, blending the Pop-Tarts flavour with that of Krispy Kreme's classic doughnuts.
