Canada-based fast food restaurant brand Mary Brown’s Chicken has announced plans to add the DOUBLE Big Mary sandwich to its menu for a limited period.

The company said the new sandwich will be available for two weeks, starting 17 October 2023.

The Double Big Mary will have two chicken breasts covered in mayo and lettuce and served on a sesame bun.

This new item comes after A&W Canada, another Canadian-owned fast food restaurant, added a new line-up of Chicken Crunchers sandwiches to its menu last week.

MBI Brands chief marketing officer Jeff Barlow said: “As we enter the final stretch of 2023, our team at Mary Brown's carefully considered what menu promotions would excite our guests. There is only one way we could improve Canada's best chicken sandwich. That is to double it."

“We are excited to serve the iconic Big Mary in double format, just as much as our guests will be excited to devour it.”

Additionally, ordering the Double Big Mary through Mary Brown's app will provide customers with double points, which can be redeemed for free food rewards.

Founded in 1969 in St John's, Newfoundland, Mary Brown's Chicken currently has more than 244 locations across Canada.

Mary Brown's has established a name for itself in Canada through its Big Mary sandwich, which is made with its signature hand-cut and breaded Chicken and 'farm-fresh' Canadian ingredients.

Quick commerce steadily becoming the norm for most food and grocery delivery companies

The emergence of ecommerce has made it imperative that companies understand consumer behavior, deliver personalized service, and offer competitive pricing models. Per GlobalData estimates, food and drink, clothing and footwear, and accommodation were the top three sectors by global ecommerce transactions in 2022. The rise of quick commerce, particularly within food and drink, allows consumers to have items delivered to their doorstep within the hour, which has driven a surge in online sales for food and drink.
