McDonald’s Australia is set to launch its newest Pokémon Match Battle Happy Meal across the country for a limited time.

Starting 24 August 2023, McDonald’s (also known as Macca’s in Australia) will offer customers a limited edition Pokémon Match Battle Happy Meal nationwide.

Macca’s customers who purchase a Happy Meal will be offered the chance to collect official Pokémon Match Battle trading cards, a card flip coin and instructions.

The restaurant said that the customers can collect 12 types of Pokémon Match Battle games, including fan favourites such as Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.

The Pokémon Match Battle Happy Meal will be available through the MyMacca’s App and McDelivery.

McDonald’s Australia brand manager David Morris said: “There is so much love and excitement for Pokémon in Australia, so we are thrilled to be launching the limited edition Pokémon Match Battle Happy Meal.

“Whether you’re preparing for your next Match Battle with friends or adding to your existing Pokémon collection, there is fun to be had for customers of all ages with our newest Happy Meal. It’s here for a limited time only, so head into your nearest Macca’s to collect them all.”

Last month, McDonald’s Australia unveiled plans to open a dedicated French fries restaurant in Sydney, Australia.

Located at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, the restaurant forms part of McDonald’s sponsorship of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

In Australia, McDonald's operates more than 1,025 restaurants, nearly 85% of which are franchised and employ more than 110,000 people.
