US-based fast food company McDonald’s has unveiled plans to re-launch its limited-edition 'Boo Buckets' for this Halloween season.

The new Boo Buckets will be rolled out across McDonald’s restaurants from 17 October 2023 in the US and will be available with McDonald's Happy Meals.

The Boo Buckets will be available in four festive styles: the Mummy, the Skeleton, the Monster and the Vampire.

The Mummy box will be white in colour, the Skeleton orange, the Monster green and the Vampire purple.

The restaurant brand added that it will be replacing the regular paper packaging used for the kids' Happy Meals with plastic buckets.

This is the second year in a row that McDonald’s will introduce the Boo Buckets after a hiatus of six years.

Earlier this month, McDonald’s Egypt partnered with Roboost to fully automate its delivery operations.

Roboost said that its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solution will automate the fast food restaurant’s last-mile delivery cycle and optimise operations before delivery starts.

McDonald’s Egypt will also gain greater visibility and control over each stage of the delivery cycle.

Roboost said that its solution will also offer clear, reliable operational insights, thereby improving overall customer experience.

McDonald’s Egypt people and operations senior director Essam Reda said: “At McDonald’s Egypt, we take pride in being pioneers in the home delivery sector and consistently raising the bar in terms of speed, reliability and overall customer experience.”

Quick commerce steadily becoming the norm for most food and grocery delivery companies

The emergence of ecommerce has made it imperative that companies understand consumer behavior, deliver personalized service, and offer competitive pricing models. Per GlobalData estimates, food and drink, clothing and footwear, and accommodation were the top three sectors by global ecommerce transactions in 2022. The rise of quick commerce, particularly within food and drink, allows consumers to have items delivered to their doorstep within the hour, which has driven a surge in online sales for food and drink.
