Miss Viet Kitchen, a Vietnamese restaurant located in Port Adelaide, South Australia (SA), has announced its closure permanently after seven years in operation.

Located at 47 Commercial Road, the restaurant is set to cease its operations in coming weeks.

The restaurant, known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine and fresh seafood, began its journey in 2018.

The closure news came as a surprise to patrons, following a recent announcement on social media on 27 December 2024.

Miss Viet Kitchen posted on social media saying: “With a heavy heart, we announce that after seven wonderful years, Miss Viet Kitchen will soon be closing its doors. It’s been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t have done it without your amazing support.

“Now, we need your love one last time! Come and enjoy your favourite dishes and create some final memories with us in these last few weeks. Your presence will mean the world to us as we say goodbye.

“Thank you for making Miss Viet a part of your life. We hope to see you soon and share one last delicious meal together!”

However, the restaurant company’s statement on the social media did not disclose the reasons behind the decision to close.

Miss Viet Kitchen on its social media post claims that it prides itself for using the freshest ingredients. Many small businesses are facing significant challenges that can ultimately lead to their closure.

Several key factors that contribute to this difficult environment include shortages in labour, staff expenses, among others.
