American pizza restaurant chain Mr Gatti's Pizza has announced an expansion of its franchise opportunities by introducing a new convenience store model.

The approach will take the brand into non-traditional locations, aiming to provide an enhanced customer experience with a more flexible and cost-effective concept.

The new franchise model features a smaller footprint and includes a convenient pickup window, streamlining the ordering process.

Strategic franchising efforts for the new concept will initially concentrate on Texas.

The new model is inspired by the brand's successful stand-alone DELCO [delivery and carry-out] models and allows operators to leverage Mr Gatti's long-standing heritage and menu.

The convenience store model can cater to a range of spaces, from 800ft² to 1,500ft².

The model is suitable for locations including travel centres, airports and amusement parks, and provides franchisees with a flexible investment option to expand their business portfolio.

Mr Gatti's Pizza franchise development vice-president Scott McIntosh said: “In our 55-year history, Mr Gatti's has continually innovated, and our latest model exemplifies this spirit by offering our franchisees enhanced revenue streams and operational flexibility.

“This new venture attaching our delivery and carry-out format to convenience stores allows franchisees to capitalise on a compact, adaptable footprint, catering to today's fast-paced consumer lifestyle with a premium, convenient dining experience.

“It's a strategic evolution, ensuring our franchise partners not only grow with the brand but also lead the way in the ever-evolving food service industry.”
