Nusr-Et Steakhouse, the restaurant chain led by Turkish chef and restauranteur Nusret Gökçe, has unveiled its latest global expansion plans, setting its sights on Mexico City for a new opening later this year.
Mexico City's culinary scene and economic growth make it a promising location for Nusr-Et's continued expansion into Latin America.
The move into Mexico City marks a significant step in Nusr-Et Steakhouse's strategy to enhance its international presence.
Alongside this new venture, the brand is preparing to launch additional restaurants in sought-after destinations such as Ibiza, Milan and Rome, further solidifying its global footprint.
Nusr-Et board member Akın Tavuz said: "We are proud to bring Nusr-Et Steakhouse to Mexico City, a city celebrated for its rich culinary heritage and vibrant culture.
"This expansion represents our dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences, and we are excited to become part of Mexico City's thriving food scene, where a passion for high-quality ingredients and bold flavours perfectly aligns with our mission of culinary excellence and outstanding service."
Nusret Gökçe's has risen from being a butcher's apprentice to a celebrated chef. His first steakhouse in Istanbul was the beginning of what is now a global empire with more than 25 locations in six countries.
In line with its focus on high-potential markets, Nusr-Et is adjusting its operations by ceasing activities in Dallas and temporarily pausing its Las Vegas branch with intentions to re-establish itself at a new venue.
In November 2023, Saltbae Burger, a brand owned by Gökçe, opened at iGA Istanbul Airport as part of efforts to expand its global footprint in the three years up to 2026.
