Restaurant technology company OpenTable has announced a strategic partnership with PolyAI to enhance reservation support for enterprise restaurants using advanced voice AI technology.
The collaboration will allow OpenTable's extensive network of restaurants to integrate PolyAI's voice assistants to facilitate seamless booking and management of reservations over the phone.
The integration of PolyAI's generative AI and spoken language technologies into OpenTable's services aims to provide diners with an improved reservation experience.
Restaurants that opt for the service will be able to take reservations over the phone, answer customer queries, track dining trends and deliver on-brand experiences, all while reducing the workload on their staff.
OpenTable chief strategy officer Susan Lee said: “We know how tightly restaurants manage their guest experience and this can be even more complex for our partners doing business at scale.
“We have, and continue to invest in, technology that pushes boundaries and enhances hospitality, and our integration with PolyAI is a new way we can drive efficiencies for our restaurants and diners."
For larger operators, the collaboration offers customisable voice assistants to meet the specific needs of multi-location and multi-brand portfolios, along with enterprise-grade assurances for availability, security and data protection.
Restaurants within OpenTable's network can request integration with PolyAI through the OpenTable integration marketplace, which facilitates more than 150 integrations with popular restaurant software.
PolyAI strategic alliances vice-president Michael Chen said: “We have extensive experience deploying voice assistants to hundreds of locations for some of the largest restaurant groups in the world, helping operators resolve up to 70% of calls over the phone without the need for additional staff.
“This strong connection with the restaurant industry started right from the earliest days of PolyAI. We're thrilled to deepen that further and work with OpenTable to help even more restaurant operators attract more diners, streamline operations and maximise revenue.”
In October 2023, Popmenu partnered with OpenTable to modernise menu management for restaurateurs.
